The Caribbean has beaches to suit every traveller, from the soft pink sands and rocky coves of Bermuda to the white sand beaches of the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Islands.  There are beaches for snorkeling, walking, and shell-collecting.

Bermuda Royal Dock Yard

At the tip of Bermuda's West End, the beautifully restored Royal Navy Dockyards provide quaint boutiques, a crafts market, a fascinating maritime museum, and from here, there are many options to venture further to experience more of beautiful Bermuda.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

In the second oldest city in the Americas, explore picturesque cobblestone streets, plazas and chapels reflecting its Spanish heritage. That’s not all.  White sand beaches, imposing forts, and lush rainforests and mountainsides await. 

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

This island has gorgeous powdery sand beaches and charming European-style towns with cultures and traditions both Dutch and French. Activity options abound, from island tours by train, bus, ATV, horseback, or bicycle; to visiting the nature reserves, beaches, historical ruins, or rum factories.

St. John’s, Antiqua

Witness the magnificent Antigua Lighthouse, visit the historical Fort James, and bask in the city's skyline, dominated by the white baroque towers of St. John's Cathedral. There is much to explore and discover in this grand city,

Basseterre, Saint Kitts

St. Kitts is a very British paradise where cricket and tea are the norm. The dramatic island landscape is rimmed in gold-sand beaches and dotted with well-preserved plantations left over from the days of the colonial sugar cane industry.

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

Once home to pirates of long ago, today visitors find treasures of a different kind.  Be greeted by one of the most beautiful harbours in the world, and indulge relaxing on beautiful beaches, bountiful duty-free shopping, or re-discover history in storied museums and forts.

Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic

Puerto Plata, is best known for its beautiful beaches, botanical gardens, for its display of the oldest amber fossils in the world, and its colonial-era city center dominated by the 16th century Spanish fortress, Fortaleza San Felipe.

Day 2: Travel to Port of New York

Embark on your Norwegian Cruise Ship

Travel to New York City, Times Square, where you will have an opportunity to enjoy lunch and a little bit of free time to explore before heading to the cruise terminal where you board your cruise ship. You’ll be pampered with spacious staterooms, a fresh juice bar, spa, pool and so much more. Settle into your state room, then head up on deck to watch the New York Skyline disappear, as you set sail on your adventure. It's truly a sight to see. (Ship sails at 4 p.m.)

Day 3: At Sea

Discover the amazing amenities on the ship while at sea. Stroll along the ship’s oceanfront promenade, indulge in one of the many dining experiences and enjoy live entertainment. The cruise ship also offers many different programs that change every day. You will receive a list of these events in your cabin. There are lots of places on board to find a deck chair and simply relax with a good book, cruising with Norwegian means vacationing at your own speed.

From the Royal Naval Dockyard, the best of Bermuda is yours to explore and experience. The port is located at the tip of the island’s west end, affording stunning sunsets, convenient ways to access transportation, and is within easy walking distance to shopping, museums and restaurants. Be sure to soak up the sun on those famous pink sand beaches.

Bid ‘adieu’ to new friends and savour warm memories of your escape to the Caribbean.

Set sail on Norwegian Getaway. This magnificent ship has 20 dining options, and three levels of activities in the sports complex. Stroll the Waterfront promenade, an amazing way to feel connected with the ocean, and inside, enjoy redesigned, well appointed staterooms with private balconies. When night falls, check out their new option for live entertainment at Syd Norman’s Pour House, where you can raise a toast to the day and rock the night away.

We recommend comfortable rubber-soled shoes for the walking tours. You should also bring along a sweater, as evenings can be cool on the water or in the air conditioning on the ship. Don’t forget your camera, sunscreen and a hat.

Although for most people medication is not required, there may be some who may want to bring along a remedy for motion sickness.  You don’t want to let that spoil these amazing experiences.

What to Wear on the cruise:

Dress cruise casual anytime during the day, in the buffet and in most specialty restaurants. For women, it includes summer and casual dresses, skirts, regular or capri pants, shorts, jeans and tops. Khakis, jeans, shorts and casual shirts are fine for men. Swimwear is acceptable at the buffet and outdoor restaurant, but a shirt or a cover-up and footwear are required.

Dress smart casual in the more formal dining room or in the more upscale specialty restaurants. For women, it includes slacks or jeans, dresses, skirts and tops. For men, it's jeans or slacks with a collared shirt and closed-toed shoes. Norwegian's Night Out, is the perfect opportunity to get dressed up for an evening of cocktails, fine dining and great entertainment. You may also want to pack an all-white ensemble for Norwegians iconic White Hot Party.

As with any cruise, there are options for day trips offered by the cruise line with an additional fee.  Booking early will save you from being disappointed.
